If you are interested in becoming a caregiver, please read some of the testimonials below provided by previous caregivers!

I had the pleasure of working with Lorraine and her beautiful service dog, Leah, when I was in college. As I look back, my time there taught me so much more than I ever expected. I learned how to put other’s needs ahead of my own. I learned how to humble myself. Most importantly, I learned how to love without conditions. These may not be typical ADL skills, which I did learn, but the knowledge I gained goes so much deeper than task work.

There are several things that come to mind when taking on the role of being Lorraine’s caregiver. While a big part includes helping her to manage her daily physical needs, it is so much more than that. It also involves checking in on her emotional needs sometimes and assisting in any way that you can or getting the same from her and letting her be a friend. It involves companionship as you help someone who is entrusting you with very personal needs and has invited you into her home and to share her life. There is a sense of fulfillment in knowing that you are making Lorraine’s life easier just by providing her some assistance. You learn not to take the little things in life for granted that may be so easy for some and so much more challenging for others.

I have worked for Lorraine as a caregiver in the past and found it to be rewarding in many different ways. The flexible schedule, set salary, and variety of the job were great features for me. You and Lorraine will work together physically, mentally, and emotionally to accomplish daily activities that are vital to her well-being. It is important to understand that Lorraine has been at this for a lifetime and will communicate her expectations, and needs. Learning as you go is a good attitude to have and you will enjoy the fulfillment of working together with her.
